50 Years of Earth Day

Mother Earth- Earth Day 2020

Happy Earth Day Mother

WOW!! 50 years since the first environmental pioneers rallied together to create the largest movement ON EARTH- FOR EARTH!! We have so much to thank them for, yet I bet they could not have even imagined the joy and bliss Mother Nature would be experiencing this day, 50 years later. While humans sort out their shadows and failed systems- our great mother sings a song of healing and regeneration through birds, clear waters and blue skies.

We are calling on you, the listeners, to help us plant trees and plant gardens! Even if it is simply one tree per month or a tiny pot collection of tomatoes- collectively we can all come together and do what we can to help reforestation efforts and help encourage sustainability and community.

HELP Among the Jungle Podcast
*Reach its goal of planting 5,000 trees in 2020*

So much good has been happening for the planet since the beginning of this year, and now, during times of drastic change is when we decide what is important, and what deserves to move forward in the future. We need trees and gardens, and forest ecosystems more than ever. Forests and gardens are truly how we protect this planet and protect and preserve our very own species.

Much is yet to be seen in our future- but one thing is very clear- WE CAN PLANT TREES AND GARDENS, AND WE MUST BEGIN.

HOW YOU CAN HELP FROM ANYWHERE

  1. PLANT A TREE
This can be in your own backyard, inside your home or through donating to One Tree Planted through their site or through the podcast’s Patreon

  2. PLANT SEEDS
This can be a garden, a tree, your favorite flower or even your left over kitchen scraps. Grow things- all kinds of things. It will improve your mental health and begin to allow us to balance out all we consume with producing something.

  3. PICK UP TRASH
In your backyard, on a walk, in the street or at a local park- wherever you may be heading out to enjoy some nature (if you have the opportunity to do so) , consider taking a backpack so you can clean

  4. THE THREE R’s
Reduce. Reuse. and if ALL ELSE FAILS- Recycle.
It’s very important that we start with Reducing first! This is where we buy less, consume less and β€œBE” more. If we must buy something, especially in packaging- we should then aim to reuse the item or packaging when it is no longer needed. If you absolutely can’t find something to do with it, you could first sell it at a discount to someone who could use it. If at the very end of all of your efforts you must create waste- please recycle. Understanding that less than 10% of all things that have ever went to recycle have actually been recycled/ are recyclable.

  5. TOXIN FREE
Download the App β€œThink Dirty” and begin your decent down the rabbit-hole of sneaky toxic items in your home that are harming both you and the planet!

HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT TREES?

The whole concept of an ecosystem is about connectivity, across whole forests there are millions of individuals, and hundreds of different species in those forests that all rely on each other.
